Description of Significance THE MORRISON BAPTIST CHURCH IS A SINGLE-STORY 1903 CHURCH THAT IS THE OLDEST EXAMPLE OF CARPENTER GOTHIC STYLE RELIGIOUS ARCHITECTURE IN THE MORRISON AREA. THE CHURCH HAS A GABLED ROOF AND IS CLAD IN WOOD CLAPBOARD SIDING. THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING FEATURES A DOUBLE DOOR ENTRY IN THE BELL TOWER. DECORATIVE ELEMENTS INCLUDE POINTED ARCH WINDOWS WITH SIMPLE TRACERIES AND WOOD HOOD MOLDS. THERE IS A POINTED ARCH TRANSOM ABOVE THE ENTRY. THE SECOND LEVEL OF THE BELL TOWER HAS FISH SCALE SHINGLES. THE BELFRY HAS A TENT ROOF WITH A SQUARE BASE. A SMALL ADDITION WAS MADE TO THE EAST SIDE, USING SIMILAR STYLE AND MATERIALS. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 9/28/1984.
